The first Kingswood Property Investor Conference was held on the 8th November 2007 in the Cardiff Marriott hotel.

Almost 200 landlords attended for advice on how to succeed in the current buy to let market and meet some of the companies that could help them grow and run their portfolios.

The event was hosted by Amanda Protheroe-Thomas of BBC Wales’ Hot Houses and the speakers were:

- John Phillips of Kingswood Associates. John discussed renovations and conversion, the best ways to structure finance and the opportunities available within commercial property, developments and land bank deals.

- Rhidian Hobbs of Howells Solicitors. Rhidian took investors through the minefield that is the law, highlighting legislative requirements they need to be aware of.

- John Walls of Wealthmasters. John spoke about the best ways to set up a company and some of the various strategies used to minimise tax.

- Lee Cecil of the National Landlords Association. Lee highlighted properties available at below market discounts as well as the role of the NLA.
